I observed people while i was in the commons to see how they acted or what they did in a public space. The data i collected showed me that people often sat with their friends while going to get food. If the person sat alone their could be many reasons as to why they aren't with their friends such as their friends didn't have time to sit down to have a meal, they had class, they don't have many friends or they could live off campus and be the only one in their friend group who has a meal plan. People sitting with their friends shows me that during college people like to be surrounded by people they are comfortable with as often as they can.
